Celebrating Halloween in Hawaii

Hawaiian gifts

Hawaii has one of the best Halloween celebrations in the country. People from all over the west coast and other American states come to see and participate in Waikiki Halloween gathering. Hundreds of amazing, unique costumes can be seen during that night.

For those who are unsure, Halloween is celebrated on the last day of October
Halloween is an ancient holiday, which dates back to pre-Christian beliefs of the Celts, who lived on the territory of modern Ireland. But unlike many pagan festivals and ritual, Halloween is not dropped on the cultural margins of modern civilization. Based on some estimates, the scope of its celebrations in the U.S. is comparable to the mega- popular Christmas.

This is a very controversial holiday: in America on the eve of Halloween candy sales and costumes are going wild, while in many European families, the main attributes of Halloween are bread and water. That’s how people remember their ancestors.

In some countries, by the decision of the heads of major religious denominations, Halloween declared to be illegal.

Personally, I like the way it's celebrated in America...I love candy!!!
