The distance is only two miles each way, so you won't need to set aside an entire day to complete just one way. This trail is remote and you might be able to spot a whale or two from Mahaulepu Beach. You'll also be treated to a view of a cave, so bring along a camera so you can snap photos of it, as well as other things you will certainly come across on your hike.
Sleeping Giant Trail
In terms of difficulty, the Sleeping Giant Trail is only moderately difficult and just like the previously mentioned trail, it takes two miles to complete it one way. Forest, views, wildlife and bird watching are some of the key features of the Sleeping Giant Trail. If you're after views of the surrounding area, then look no further than the Sleeping Giant Trail because it offers some of the best views in all of Kauai.
The Powerline Trail
This is a very strenuous trail to complete and it takes 13 miles each way to complete the entire hike, but it is well worth it. You can access the trail from either Wailua's upper East side or the North Shore. You'll be treated to some of the most amazing views of both the interior of the islands and the ocean. This is because the trail cuts directly through the island. You'll have plenty of opportunities to do activities such as bird watching and wildlife viewing, but do be aware that this trail is not maintained, so tread carefully.
