Wondering what black beaches are really like?
When you think of a gorgeous beach, you probably think of soft white sand. There are many you can visualize right now I’m sure.
But did you know there are black beaches? They’re some of the most gorgeous in the world and are caused by volcanic activity, making them picturesque and exciting to see.
Two of the most famous in the world are in Hawaii:
Punalu’u Beach – Located on the Island of Hawaii. Here you’ll find long tropical palm trees along the coast. There is also much endangered wildlife, so please don’t touch. The sand is protected also, so no one can take any home as a souvenir. But you will find incredible views and wildlife so take lots of pictures to remember this special place. Wai’anapanapa Beach – Located on Maui. Here you can dip your toes in the water, but swimming isn’t suggested since there are very strong currents.
